What is included in the price

The guide figures cover the concrete base the kitchen stands on, the block or stone-faced counter structure, weatherproof worktops and the cabinet runs, with openings sized for the appliances you have chosen. Fully equipped prices include the cooking and cold-storage kit built in. What sits outside the guide price is bringing services out from the house: a gas supply has to be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and a new outdoor electrical circuit is notifiable work that must be certified, so both are quoted once we know the route and distance.

What makes it cost more or less

  • The length of the counter run and whether it is a straight line, an L-shape or an island
  • Facing material: render is usually the more economical finish, natural stone the dearest
  • Which appliances are built in, and whether you supply any yourself
  • How far gas, power and water have to travel from the house
  • Whether a new base is needed or an existing one is sound enough to build on
  • Adding a roof or pergola, which has to stay within outbuilding size and height limits
  • Access for materials, particularly where everything comes through the house

Outdoor kitchen costs in Milton Keynes and nearby towns

Much of Milton Keynes, along with Bletchley and Cranfield, sits on clay that drains slowly and moves as it wets and dries, so the base under a heavy masonry kitchen is not a place to cut corners and can be deeper near trees. Around Woburn Sands, Aspley Guise and Woburn the sandy Greensand is kinder to build on. In the old village conservation areas such as Great Linford or Shenley Church End, a covered kitchen may need closer checks. Travel within our area does not change the price.

What to check in any quote

  • That the kitchen stands on its own concrete base rather than on existing patio slabs
  • Which appliances are included and which are allowances
  • Whether gas, power and water are included or listed as extras
  • Who certifies the gas and electrical work and that you receive the certificates
  • Worktop material and whether it is rated for outdoor use and frost
  • What happens to any spoil, old paving or plants that come out

“Connor and the team recently completed our resin driveway in Bletchley. From going through the design with us and even making pictures so we could see how it looked, to the install and the aftercare, it has all been perfect. Thanks again.”

“Milton Keynes Driveways & Landscaping have just finished our full garden makeover in Milton Keynes. We had a porcelain patio, composite decking and raised sleeper beds. They arrived on time, kept my home clean and the garden looks terrific. They are coming back to do our block paved driveway soon.”

Questions

Things people ask us

What is the cheapest way to get an outdoor kitchen?
Keep it to a straight counter run with a rendered finish, leave spaces for a freestanding grill and fridge rather than built-in units, and use bottled gas or charcoal so no fixed gas supply is needed. That keeps you towards the entry level of around £6,000 rather than the fully equipped range.
Is an outdoor kitchen worth the money?
It depends how often you cook and eat outside. For households that entertain through the warmer months it turns the garden into a usable room and keeps smoke and mess out of the house. If you barbecue a few times a year, a good freestanding grill on a patio may serve you better.
What does an outdoor kitchen cost to look after?
Running costs are mostly the fuel your appliances use and the occasional clean and reseal. Weatherproof worktops and stone or rendered faces need little more than washing down, and covers over the grill and pizza oven during winter help them last. Any gas appliance should be serviced as the maker recommends.
How do payments work on an outdoor kitchen?
The payment terms are set out in the written quote before any work is booked, so you know in advance what is due and when. We do not ask for full payment up front, and any stage payments are tied to work you can see completed on site.
How long is an outdoor kitchen quote valid for?
The written quote states how long the price holds. Appliance and material prices can move, so if you come back after that date we recheck the figures before confirming. If the design changes after the quote, we reprice the parts that have changed and show you the difference.
