What moves the price
Five things that change the figure
- What comes out. Lifting old block paving is quick; breaking out a 1970s concrete slab is not. Muck away is one of the biggest single costs on any drive.
- The base. We lay resin on a complete manufacturer base and surface system rather than over fresh tarmac. It costs a little more and it is the difference between a drive that lasts and one that stains or cracks.
- Shape and edges. Curves, steps, manhole covers and lots of edging all add time. A simple rectangle is the cheapest shape there is.
- Access. Resin has a working life measured in minutes once mixed, so a long barrow run from the road to the back of a house needs more hands.
- The blend. Most aggregate blends are close in price. A few premium marbles and very fine blends cost noticeably more.

Questions
Things people ask about resin prices
How much is a resin bound driveway in Milton Keynes?
Most resin bound driveways we build in and around Milton Keynes come in between £150 and £220 per square metre, all in. A typical two-car front drive of around 40 to 50m² is usually £7,500 to £11,000.
Why do some companies quote much less?
Usually one of three reasons: the resin is laid thinner than 18mm, it goes straight over an old or new tarmac surface instead of a proper base system, or it is resin bonded rather than resin bound. All three are cheaper on day one and cost more within a few winters.
Can resin go over my existing tarmac or concrete?
Sometimes, if the existing surface is sound, well drained and not cracked through. More often on older Milton Keynes drives it is not, and overlaying hides the problem rather than fixing it. We will tell you honestly at the visit which yours is.
Is a resin drive cheaper than block paving?
Per square metre they are close, with resin usually slightly dearer. Resin tends to win on small, awkward or curved drives where block paving needs a lot of cutting; block paving tends to win on large, simple rectangles.
